Ilam, June 19:

Tea farmers in Ilam district have demanded to establish a tea laboratory in the district.

“It has already been 124 years of history in tea farming in the nation. However, no laboratory has been established yet,” Lal Bahadur Subba, former Ilam DDC chairman, said, adding that a tea laboratory would be helpful for the promotion of tea business.

“A tea laboratory should be established in the same building where there is a tea-processing centre,” said Dharma Gautam, a member of civil society adding that tea factory in Ilam district was established in 1935 BS.
