Kathmandu, February 12:

The second ‘the boss Top 10 Business Excellence Awards’ is slated to be presented in March 2005 in Kathmandu.

A tribute to the spirit of entrepreneurship and business excellence, the awards recognise outstanding leadership, innovation, perseverance, creativity, teamwork, and integrity through ten core categories. A board of advisors and panel of experts that include some of the most eminent names from the business sector and academics, help lend the event credibility and dignity.

Despite being the first of its kind in Nepal, the event drew a large participation last year. This year, the boss is adding a new award category of ‘Social Entrepreneurs”.

Under this category, entrepreneurs operating in the social sectors, either individually or through their organisation, from the country are encouraged to participate. Social entrepreneurs will be judged on the basis of following criteria: Innovative and original idea for solving a social problem in the country’s perspective; creativity in vision and replicability; impact on the society in terms of targeted objectives, resource generation and mobilisation of citizen support and sustainability issues.

As in case of other categories, participants are needed to call up the boss office to nominate themselves in the ‘Best Social Entrepreneur’ category.
