KATHMANDU: The IMS Airport Services Pvt Ltd, which has been managing the arrival hall at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), has prohibited the use of trolleys in the travelator.

As per a media release, the company had bought new trolleys with wheel locking system for the new arrival area. However, the old trolleys being used in the departure area tends to get mixed up with the new trolleys.

In light of this issue, the company has said the use of trolleys has been strictly prohibited in the travelator for the time being. Incoming guests with up to two suitcases can still use the travelator without the trolleys.

They will still have an option to get the trolleys at the end of the travelator to take it outside till the parking area.

A guard has been placed full time in front of the travelator to guide incoming guests with trolleys and those carrying more than two suitcases will be urged to use the lifts instead of the travelator.

A bigger elevator with over 10 people capacity will be added to the area at the earliest, the release adds.
