Tokyo aid for kid labourers
KATHMANDU: KATHMANDU: Japan will provide economic assistance of Rs 4.99 million through a Japanese NGO for improving the condition of the child labourers working in Patan area of Lalitpur and for guaranteeing child rights.
The amount to be provided to the community of Sapla Neer city of Japan will be used for the welfare of child workers in Nepal through Child Rights Cooperation and Protection Centre of Patan. The assistance money will be used for providing primary healthcare and also non-formal education to child workers in Kathmandu and Patan. Japan's ambassador to Nepal Tatsuo Mizuno and Sapla Neer Nepal, Nepal Representative, Yukiko Fujisaki signed the agreement to this effect at a programme organised at the Japanese Embassy this afternoon.
