Tourist arrivals in Mustang dropped by nearly half in Bhadra following floods in the Bhotekoshi‑Trishuli region and continued disruption along the Kaligandaki Corridor, police said.
A total of 31,989 tourists visited Mustang between August 17 and September 16, down from 61,263 in Shrawan and significantly lower than the same period last year. Road blockages caused by flooding and river erosion have further restricted tourism movement.
Of the visitors in Bhadra, 16,503 were domestic tourists, 15,138 were from SAARC countries, and 348 were from other countries. Domestic arrivals fell by 46.16 percent, while SAARC arrivals declined by 52.05 percent.
However, arrivals from outside the SAARC region increased to 348 from 193 last year, marking a rise of 155 visitors.
So far this year, Mustang has recorded 93,252 tourist arrivals, including 47,158 domestic visitors, 46,713 from SAARC countries, and 441 from other countries.
