Unidentified group hijacks oil tanker
KATHMANDU: An unidentified group hijacked an oil tanker of Nepal Oil Corporation in Lahan, Siraha around midnight on Monday.
The tanker, which was transporting 20,000 kilolitres of diesel to Biratnagar depot of NOC from its depot in Amlekhgunj was hijacked by a four-member unidentified group, informed Sushil Bhattarai, deputy managing director of NOC.
“The tanker was hijacked when its driver and co-driver were preparing to have dinner in Lahan. We have no information yet about the group and where the tanker has been taken,” he informed. Meanwhile, NOC has formed a committee to investigate the issue. Similarly, Nepal Police is also investigating the issue in coordination with NOC
