Birgunj, February 14 :

One of the private communication service provider, United Telecom Limited (UTL) has started its wireless telephone service in Birgunj from today.

It has launched wireless CDMA phones and limited mobility phone service here. “On the occasion, it is offering a limited mobility HHT hand phone set in Rs 1616,” a UTL source said.

“The customers will have to pay the remaining amount in monthly installment. UTL is the first

wireless mobility telephone service provider in Birgunj," a statement issued by the UTL today stated.

The government-run Nepal Telecom (NT) has not yet distributed CDMA phones in the urban areas so the UTL phones will get market here the UTL source added. It has already started it service in Kathmandu and Hetaunda.

In the current fiscal year, UTL is planning to extend its service in Butwal, Bhairahawa and Pokhara, the UTL source informed.
