Bangalore, April 7:
Chinese telecom engineers here are delighted that their Premier Wen Jiabao is calling on them during his first visit to India’s information technology capital, saying the visit is a ‘milestone in Sino-Indian ties’.
The Chinese premier arrives here on Saturday evening and then moves to New
Delhi the next evening during his four-day visit to India. And for the 40-odd Chinese techies in Bangalore, working on high-end telecom projects at Huawei Technologies India Ltd, the visit promises to be a memorable one.
“We are delighted to know our prime minister has chosen to visit Bangalore to spend some time with us at our software development centre as well as research and development facility,” a Huawei official from Shenzhen in Guangdong province said.
“The visit is a milestone in Sino-Indian ties as it signifies a high point of cooperation in the knowledge sector with our domain expertise in hardware complementing that of India in software,” he added.
