Yeti Airlines' support

KATHMANDU: Yeti Airlines is supporting Ek Ek Paila - an initiative of a group of doctors and volunteers in Nepal - by providing special fare as a part of its overall commitment to promote the sustainable development goals (SDGs), as per a media release.

The initiative aims to provide best and free health services to the people in the remote rural areas of Nepal. Starting as an earthquake-shaken conscience, Ek Ek Paila is committed to reaching out to those residing in the most inaccessible areas of the country, now focusing on far-western part of Nepal and providing the essential health care.

The 16th paila will be at Jumla District Hospital from April 9 to 16.

Yeti Airlines' collaboration with Ek Ek Paila will promote the third SDG - good health and well-being - in addition to its ongoing promotion of other SDGs like ‘responsible consumption and production' (SDG 12), climate change (SDG 13), biodiversity conservation (SDG 15) and partnership (SDG 17) in Nepal.

Ek Ek Paila started its first paila or ‘step' on June 6, 2015 from Sindhupalchowk (Chanute).

Till date, Ek Ek Paila has reached Nuwakot, Dolakha, Rasuwa, Manang, Dhading, Kavre, Kathmandu, Gorkha, Mugu and Simikot.
