Ace's Happy Campaign for Melamchi

MELAMCHI: The students of Ace Institute of Management were able to bring happiness to the lives of 40 families residing in Melamchi district through their initiative 'Happy Winter Campaign'. Under this initiative managed by the Golden Campaign of Ace, they recently distributed blankets to the district’s quake survivors along with holding an interaction for them.

Some 200 members of 40 families got blankets and warm clothes as a part of the campaign. The local partner of this programme was Nagarik Sachetana Kendra, Talamarang — a club of economically backward families there.

The interaction programme organised in collaboration with local authorities and local schools aimed to understand the psychology of children post earthquake. During the interaction, the Ace students got to know that children had returned to their daily routine and were much refreshed.

However, Tara Bahadur Thapa, Executive of Melamchi Municipality, focused on the difficulty of access to educational materials.

Nonetheless, the students were impressed with the people of Melamchi — who were always smiling despite all the hardships they are facing. And the local people were united to utilise the water of Melamchi River for irrigation purpose. They also worked together to rebuild the local monastery.

Though the students’ initiative was on small scale, it helped the people of that area to fight cold. They also have assured to help build a library so the students there can get easy access to educational materials.
