Celebrating Guru Purnima

KATHMANDU: What could be a more effective way of celebrating Guru Purnima than students showcasing their achievements? So, the students of Naaya Aayam Multidisciplinary Institute (NAMI) studying BSc (Hons) Environmental Science and BSc (Hons) Computing celebrated Guru Purnima (Teacher’s Day) on July 31 at Hyatt Regency including ‘Year Outline Program’ where students reflected on their learning process of their first year in college through their presentations. To make the event more interesting there was also  a refreshment programme.

The Chief Guest of the programme was Retd IGP APF Sanat Kumar Basnet. The event began with a formal programme as the students from both the disciplines presented their achievements of their first year of studies at NAMI.

The Environmental Science students gave a summary of the 2015 earthquake and presented the photos of their field visits and other activities, whilst the Computing students presented two games and a web page developed by them.

After this the informal programme began with the refreshment programme with the theme ‘Monsoon Masquerade’. According to the theme, the students had to wear dresses in keeping with the monsoon season which may be bright as the flowers that bloom during this season or dark as the cloud when it rains. Masks were addition. The students rejoiced by singing and dancing during this part of session.

By celebrating Guru Purnima through compiling outline programmes with refreshment programmes, learning at NAMI has been both educational and fun.
