Choose the right subject

KATHMANDU: Music director Kali Prasad Baskota got everyone under his spell of Jaalma, a song of Nepali film Resham Filili in 2015. Associated with Nepali musical fraternity for a decade now, Visa Girl, Manjari, Kabaddi Kabaddi, Mukhauta are his other works as a music director. The singer-songwriter also worked as a Senior Production Officer at Tilganga Eye Hospital, Gaushala, Ring Road for 15 years. But he is wholeheartedly pursuing music now — he is busy with upcoming Nepali movie Purano Dunga as a music director. Baskota is also busy working on his solo album, and performing in various musical events. The winner of Hits FM Best Movie Sound Track 2016 and Image Awards Best Duet Singer 2016, he recalls his college memories.

I completed Diploma in Engineering in 2000 from Thapathali Campus, Thapathali. Then I did BCom in 2003 from Shanker Dev Campus, Putalisadak.

LASTING MEMORIES

While studying in Diploma level, I had to sing in a farewell party. That was the first time I had performed in front of the audience. Everybody appreciated me then, and I will never forget that appreciation.

LESSON LEARNT

Time is valuable because our life is short. So, we should learn to value our time.

Don’t enrol in a course by just looking at its scope or being influenced by others. Study the course that you are interested in and have a passion for it. If you do that, then you can create your scope for your career development.

Don’t be too serious while studying or while having fun. Create balance between your studies and fun time, that will help you ace in college.
