COLLEGE LIFE

Wah! Those were the days.

BEST OF COLLEGE LIFE

Being able to sing and win for the college.

LASTING MEMORIES

During my ISc days, I always ran short of pocket money. The College organised an anniversary fair. I didn’t have money to go around and eat. But my helping attitude and good rapport with senior girls paid off. I went to them. They had opened a stall to sell momo. I helped them in making momos. And they offered me a plate afterwards. Then, I roamed around.

While at CSU, I learned car driving. I got driving license in the first attempt. I bought Plymouth car for $300. It was a wide body American car of 1952, older than myself. But just the next day of receiving the license, the car broke down. A piece from its engine block had gone off. Then, as the mechanics instructed, I visited several junk yards, collected old engine block and spent my whole summer vacation cleansing the engine parts. The mechanics later fixed the car and I used it for my whole stay. That car was again sold for $ 300 later by my friend.

LESSON LEARNT

Make a right decision at right time, never let your focus shift from the mainstream of what you ought to do. And I also learnt a work culture of the west that was equally applicable in the east.

WORDS TO HEED

The political activism and politically motivated unionism are badly sabotaging the very foundation of education in Nepal. Today’s students are the future of Nepal. Know your strength and define it. Identify your weakness and refine it. Explore your creativity and shine it. Nurture a habit to study in group of three to five. Nourish it with taking initiatives to call for group study and sharing.

HOW TO ACE IN COLLEGE

Create a balance among the class work, home work and field work. Realise the difference you have over your friends. If you think, you don’t have, try to work on it. If you have already identified, work to enhance it. Always, keep positive attitude and constructive thoughts, with topping of a pleasing smile. That will help you strike out among the hundreds.
