Memories to smile forever
KATHMANDU: The students pursuing Bachelor of Public Health at Maharajgunj Medical Campus (IOM) organised a 'Rafiting-cum-Holi' programme on March 22. Eleven students (from fourth and fifth year) — carrying bags full of drinks, dry and home-made foods — first gathered on the premises of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj before setting out on their journey.
Then they went to Sorakhutte from where they got on a bus, that would take him to their destination — Trishuli. As the bus began to move towards its destination, the students began to sing and dance. They played antakshari, and even became friends to the strangers who were travelling on the same bus. Their bus stopped near Dharke for breakfast.
When they reached their destination, they were excited to see the beautiful view of Trishuli River. They noticed a swimming pool at the resort, but the students couldn't take time out for swimming. Instead, after having their lunch at the resort, they started their Holi celebration — putting colours on each other's face near the banks of the River. They also managed to click some photographs there.
Shortly after the Holi celebration, this group of students headed for rafting. Their rafting guide Ashok Thapa told them to wear life jackets and helmets for protection. He also briefed about what to do and what not to do while in the water. Rafting was exciting and everyone enjoyed the experience. In- between their rafting, they had a break where they took photos on the river banks.
These enthusiastic students sang, made merry all day long on the raft while enjoying beautiful scenery. They spent almost five hours on the raft. After completing their rafting they returned to Kathmandu, full of memories to smile forever.
