Photography excursion to Sundarijal
KATHMANDU: The students of BA IInd and IIIrd Year from Triton College recently went on a hike to Sundarijal for the annual one-day photography tour. Along with two teachers from the faculty, a total of seven students participated in this photographic experience.
The students commenced the journey at 8:00 am. After reaching the Sundarijal entrance at almost 10:00 am, everyone had typical Aloo Dum, Chowmein, tea and Sel Roti as breakfast at Dikki Khaza Ghar nearby. This was where the students began to expose their photographic skills under the guidance of the teachers. Taking pictures of the local people, beautiful surrounding and each other, everyone entered the hiking route of Sundarijal with great enthusiasm and excitement.
At 10:30 am, they came across Mrigendra Samaj Guthi where some people were shouting for help to take a person to hospital. Taking some photographs there, everyone continued the journey. Walking through the stairs and then along the forest, the students did not miss any chance to take photographs along the way.
Reaching Sundarijal Base Camp at 11:40 am, they took pictures around the barrack. Five of the seven aspiring photographers also went for another 45-minutes hike to the tower of Mulkharka Village. The view from the tower was serene and beautiful for taking a panoramic picture of Kathmandu Valley and the villages around.
After taking some pictures and creating a video, everyone descended back around 2:00 pm. They had lunch at a village home-stay and returned. Photographs, scenarios, walking, chit-chats and food — it was an experience to cherish for lifetime.
