50 Cent bets on solo career

LONDON:

Rapper 50 Cent has said he will end his solo album career if his new record Curtis is outsold by Kanye West’s Graduation. Both albums hit music shops on September 11. Contactmusic.com quoted him as saying: “Let’s raise the stakes. If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I’ll no longer write music. I’ll write music and work with other artistes but I won’t put out any more solo albums.” The dramatic nature of 50 Cent’s bet is no surprise given his previous success. He is one of the biggest hip-hop stars in the world after his last effort, The Massacre, went platinum seven times over.
