A journey begins

Kathmandu:

Many singers are born emulating the forerunners of their field and we have many examples. But Shailesh Singh waited till he honed his singing talent for years under the careful guidance of a Nepali music maestro. “I have still been taking music classes from Deepak Jungum regularly,” Shailesh shares as he was readying to record his first solo album Shandhi at Sangam Studio.

The album will be a compilation of nine momentous songs of popular lyricists and poets.

“The songs in the album are more poems than lyrics, which is the first attempt of its kind in

the Nepali musical industry,” he explains enthusiastically.

The album will compile the poems of Kali Prasad Rijal, Norjang Shyangden, Hari Bhakta Katuwal, Ishwar Ballav, Bhim Darshan Roka, Punya Prasad Subedi and Prakash Sayami, for which music has been composed by Prabin Baraily.

Baraily has already proved his talent in his album Bulbul.

Both the singer and composer belong to the musical group Shubharambha: The Musical Journey. If everything goes as ,planned the album will be completed by Baishakh (mid April).
