A self-taught master
Kathmandu: One doesn’t necessarily need formal education and training to cut an edge. Even self-taught enthusiasts can set examples and be the master of their domains. Nawaraj Ghale, who is self-taught, aspires to set such an example. Ghale has staged his second exhibition of paintings at Moksh from June 24. The exhibition puts on display some of Ghale’s finest paintings that range from portraitures and landscapes to the artist’s initial endeavours to more abstract forms. While portraitures and landscapes seem to project a cultural message, others project a strong religious influence upon the artist. The paintings are mostly rendered in oil, water colour, fabric colour and don’t have any definite themes. “I leave it upon the viewers to interpret them,” says Ghale. The exhibition is on till July 27. — HNS
