Abhishek makes a world record
MUMBAI: In February 2009, Abhishek Bachchan created a world record for the maximum number of cities visited by a film star in 12 hours making him the first Indian film star to be included in the Guinness Book of World Records. Yash Chopra presented him the award at the Apsara Awards presentation ceremony held in Mumbai recently.
Bachchan shared, “I’m quite excited, more so because it has been done for a film that’s so close to my heart. I am delighted to receive this honour at the prestigious Apsara Awards in front of the entire film industry. The issues addressed by Delhi 6 are relevant and have a strong message for our countrymen. This record I would dedicate to the people of India.”
Will Smith was the first to make it in the Guinness World Record for his movie Hitch for making the maximum number of public appearances by a film star at different cities in 12 hours promoting their film.
The whirlwind set of
appearances was done under strict Guinness World Record guidelines. The record-breaking tour, to promote Delhi 6, began on February 22 in the
afternoon at 12:05 pm in Ghaziabad in the presence of world media.
