An eve dedicated to Pushkin

KATHMANDU :

‘Pushkin’s Evening’ a literary programme organised to celebrate the 208th birth anniversary of the famous Russian poet Alexander S Pushkin was organised by the Nepal-Russia Literary Association and Russian Centre of Science and Culture on June 6.

Held at Russian Culture Centre, the programme started on Nepali time, that is later than the scheduled hour. A documentary in Russian language based on the biography of Pushkin was shown at the programme. As part of literary programme, a ghazal recitation was also organised. Jangab Chuahan, vice-president of the Nepal-Russia Literary Association, gave a brief account of the poet’s life and also recited fragments of his three romantic poems.
