Artists get chance to mingle

A three-day Nepal-Bangladesh Youth Art Workshop began at Gurukul on July 22 organised by the Nepal-Bangladesh Youth Art Exchanging Committee. The workshop aims at encouraging interaction between the artists of the two countries through exchange of their ideas, techniques and style of paintings. Fifteen painters are participating in the workshop — nine are from Bangladesh and six from Nepal. Ambassador of Bangla-desh to Nepal, M Humayun Kabir, inaugurated the workshop. “We hope activities like this will help promote the bilateral cultural relationship between the two countries,” he said. Personalities and peopel related to the cultural field like Kiran Manandhar, Shanker Nath Rimal and Chirag Bangdel, were present at the opening ceremony. The workshop will be followed by a weeklong exhibition of paintings

produced by the artists participating in the workshop from July 29 at the Nepal Art Council, Babar Mahal.
