KATHMANDU:

The team from Adarsh Vidhya Mandir (AVM) Lalitpur were declared the winners of the Horlicks Genius Nepal 2007 title.

In a closely fought contest, AVM surpassed New English School of Janakpur, Eureka Residential School of Dharan and Sagarmatha School of Biratnagar in the grand finale that was held in Kathmandu.

Prior to the finals, four semi finals were held in Kathmandu wherein 16 schools from across the country participated. The semi finalists comprised winners from each of the 16 centres where the quiz was held at the local level. All together, 1,356 students from 369 schools took part in Horlicks Genius Nepal 2007.

The Horlicks Genius Nepal quiz was organised by Kathmandu University High School, Dhulikhel. The school has been associated with Horlicks since 2004, when the Horlicks National Level Maths Quiz was held. The Maths quiz was held regularly every year upto 2006. This year, in response to suggestions from schools around the country, the quiz evolved into a full-fledged General Knowledge quiz contest.
