Bamboozling with steaks

Kathmandu:

American cuisine characterises the broad diversity of foods, driven by the tendency of the country as a whole to integrate widely divergent ingredients and styles of cooking. Food differs from region to region and is influenced by innovation and centuries of immigration.

KC restaurant and Bambooze bar has bought the best and the popular American cuisine to Nepal. The restaurant, which started in Freak Street and later moved to Thamel, and has become a popular place for people who would like to taste some of the best steaks in town.

Having lived with an American family for 12 years, the owner has gathered a lot of knowledge in nutrition, hygiene and the best possible way to serve and present food the way they do in American homes.

"The restaurant is 31 years old and we still boast of making the best of sizzler steaks, pumpkin pie, green salad and chocolate cheese cakes in town. In fact, we were one of the first restaurants to introduce sizzlers in Nepal. Since steak is the staple diet and represent the American style of food, we will be presenting pepper and chicken steak at the food festival. This will be a complete meal in itself as it will be served with baked potatoes and vegetables," owner says Mukesh Chhetri, owner of the restaurant.

Of course there will be burgers - chicken and vegetable - for those who love to take a big bite. "American burger will be topped with cheese, while chips will accompany the vegetable burger. We also have chicken nuggets with chips and hot dog," says Chhetri.

Dessert is a must as "we are well known for our pies and pastries," says Chettri, adding, "And chocolate cheese cake is the best amongst them. Our business started to pick up after we introduced the pies and cakes. Within a short span of time, these became a big hit."

This is the first time KC is participating in the food festival and they want "people to know what they can look forward to when they visit the restaurant".

They have Jim Bean Cola and Jack Daniel Cola to go along with the food.
