Bands battle it out

KATHMANDU:

The stage was set and the bands were out brandishing their guitars with an unbridled malice. And before anyone could stop them, the battle began with thundering of drums and woeful strains of guitar. As the hours went by, one after the other, the bands belted out explosive songs, each trying to outdo the other.

The battle of the bands held at Bhrikutimandap on May 27 was the first event in the series of events of the weeklong Kathmandu Mall Mahotsav 2063.

The battle was participated by 11 bands, out of which four bands will be selected for the grand finale that is scheduled to be held at the Kathmandu Mall

on June 3.

The first day also saw live performances by Nima Rumba, Karma Band, Kranti Ale and Mausami Gurung followed by a DJ Session by Kranti Ale. “We are expecting a crowd of over 1,500,” said Nishant Shrestha, executive director, AbiR.

The event is organised by Sound Garden, and managed by AbiR.
