Kathmandu:
To look a better you before you go for a new hairstyle here is a peak at a new technology — Digital Hairstyling. Hair expert Suman Shrestha states, "Digital Hairstyling enables salons to be a lot more creative in the styles they offer because they don’t have to persuade clients to take a chance on something they haven’t seen. You can show them what the style will look like before they have any of the work done."He has two softwares for this. One is Cosmopolitan Virtuele Metamorfose and the other is Seventeen Style Studio and there are other software related to digital hairstyling coming within one month. In fact, you can easily get the Seventeen Style Studio in the market as well. But to access the softwares you need to have a digital camera as well as another software called Photo Impression.
In a digital makeover session you can quickly fit yourself with hairstyles from Cosmopolitan Virtuele Metamorfose of 199 of hairstyle choices. Plus, you can apply make-up from the most popular seasonal colour palettes and much more. In the Seventeen Style Studio you have 51 styles that can be fit on your photo by a simply click.
Both softwares have a range of collection of hairstyles for wedding, parties, everyday styles, etc, and can be accessed by hair length, angle of view, hair type (smooth, wavy, etc). Once a hairstyle is set, it can be modified in many ways. You can cut, lengthen, add body, reshape, lighten, darken, colour individual locks, and even change the colour of the hairstyle. Whether searching for that new pineapple style, a funky twist knot or an elegant sophisticated look, the perfect style can now be found all in one location.
And this is not just what the software offers. You can even picture yourself with various colours of eye lenses that will suit you, lipstick colours, eyebrow shapes, sunglasses, hats to name just a few.
But the technology still hasn’t reached the masses and many are still not aware of this. Suman however uses the software only for various hairstyles not for make-up. He charges Rs 100 for this. He shares, "It is not popular in my parlour as well and I think the reason is it does not come free. But the main benefit of this technology is that it gives chance to people who have long hair see how they look like when they cut it short and it even gives chance to people who have curly hair to know how they will look when they straighten it and vice versa."
