LONDON: Former Spice girl Victoria Beckham has landed a speaking role in the next Madagascar movie. The 35-year-old will voice a character in the animated film, which is due for release in 2012. Ben Stiller and David Schwimmer will also give voiceovers in Madagascar 3, reported imdb.com.

Victoria earlier made a brief appearance in Ugly Betty and did a voiceover for Spongebob Squarepants.

The first Madagascar movie, about a group of zoo animals accidentally shipped back to Africa, was an international hit and was followed by a successful sequel in 2008.
