LOS ANGELES: Hollywood superstar George Clooney bought a new car for an Italian woman after he damaged her vehicle in a minor accident.

Thesun.co.uk reports that the 47-year-old actor hit the woman’s Lancia Ypilson from behind. He quickly accepted the blame for the accident in Pennabilli, central Italy.

When the woman went to pick her car up from repairers, she saw that Clooney had spent almost 14,000 pounds on a newer version of the car and also left a note of apology on the windscreen.

It read, “I’m so sorry. Hope you’ll forgive me. George Clooney.”
