The National Judicial Academy (NJA) Nepal has published the first volume of its journal entitled NJA Law Journal that deals with several modern concepts of laws.
The book describes several modern concepts that have emerged in
recent times on constitutional and legal issues and the status of fundamental rights.
Experts have analysed several issues on transitional justice, peace and democracy in Nepal, characteristics of global standards of judicial independence, and new fundamental rights like economic and social rights.
Supreme Court judges to former chief of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority have penned down their experiences and views on various subjects. Judges Kalyan Shrestha and Dr Ananda Mohan Bhattarai, and former CIAA chief Surya Nath Upadhyaya have shared their knowledge and experiences.
The book has described several fundamental rights in the Interim Constitution of Nepal 2007 such as the economic and social rights and international jurists have also shared on the practices of the jurists in the international arena.
Though transitional politics has been governing the state, and the law and order situation has almost collapsed in the country, authors have given a strong opinion about the necessity of adopting transitional justice system to pull the country out from transitional difficulties.
Settlement of disputes out of courts and the
ways have also been described seriously. Settlement of commercial disputes and the failure of child marriage law and sexual harassment in workplaces have also been seriously analysed.
