Papers presented:

The students of Class IX KUHS recently presented papers on different relevant topics. The papers covered issues like womenempowerment, child labour, Maoist conflicts, and other topics. The papers were interesting, the presenters were applauded by one and all who were present at the function. — Diksya KC

Memory power:

The Baba Boarding School on September 16 31 organised an inter-house Memory Contest for

the primary students (from Class I - V). Hundred items with labels were displayed. The students were given 10 minutes to observe the items on display. Then they were given 10 minutes to write down the names of the items they could remember. Green House stood first with 20 points, Red and Blue house shared the second position with 15 points each, and Yellow House stood third with 10 points. Certificates were given by the Principal to the winners. — Pema Lama Sundas

Modern dance contest:

The Modern Indian School on September 4 organised a dance competition in which students from each house had taken part. In the junior group, Upasna of Annapurna House was the winner, and in the senior group Monica of Kanchenjunga House took the prize. In the overall results, Annapurna House was judged the winner. — HNS

Book fair in town:

Shuvatara School will be organising a Book Fair on September 30 and October 1 at Sanepa from 11 am to 4 pm. Promiment writers will be invited to attend the fair and many literary programmes have been planned. St Xavier’s and Neptune School will be participating in the fair by holding their own exhibitons on environment issues. The main objective of the fair is to expose children to good literature and writers in English and Nepali, and imbibe in them a love of reading for pleasure. — HNS
