Bringing about a change
KATHMANDU: To make a difference and to bring the needed change in the lives of the underprivileged a fund raising concert was organised by Five Group. Two immensely talented ch-ildren affected by ar-med conflict are being helped by the group for their education. The gr-oup is also supporting child for a short term life skill programme.
The musical concert took place at Rimal Hall, Gurukul on July 12. Despite the rain a huge number of music fans turned up to enjoy the music and support the cause. Rashmi Thapa one of the members of Five Group spoke about their plans and works. The show opened with the melodious ensemble of various traditional instruments played by Kutumba. The exhilarating music made the crowd clap along and enjoy throughout the performance. Continuing with Chandi, Sorathi, Yak walk and Festive among others the band also supported other musicians on the stage. Himali Dixit and Eelum performed some of their original creations like Chyantu, Ganga and Patan Dhoka giving the peppy flavour of folk music to the whole event.
Saradha Dangol’s madal solo and Indira Lacchyamasu’s dhimey solo was well received by the audience. Popular numbers like Machhi marana and Makh-amali cholo sang by Indira Joshi were also successful to enthrall the crowd.
