Britney faces life
LONDON: Troubled pop beauty Britney Spears has taken solace in Christianity to help her solve her problems on her father Jamie’s insistence. The 22-year-old “Me Against The Music” singer has caused her close-knit family much distress over the last few months, after marrying childhood pal Jason Alexander in Las Vegas and being repeatedly photographed drunk and smoking, reports Teen Hollywood.
But since the fuss surrounding the annulled marriage has died down, Britney’s close relatives have been trying to save her career and prevent her from totally breaking down.
“With her father’s guidance, Britney realised she’d reached a spiritual low and that God was the only answer. Her family told her that they loved her very much but that they couldn’t stand by and watch her destroy her life and her career. They told her she needed to get back on her feet and return to traditional values, and that included Christianity,” a source was quoted saying.
Another relief from stress can be vigorous exercise. And Spears isn’t shy of disclosing that she is a fitness freak. According to ratethemusic.com, she actually showed off her physical prowess on a television show. She made the host of the show, Ellen Degeneres, lie on the floor and go through a series of tough exercises to help her get a tight tummy. Struggling for breath, Degeneres said, “This is the way I should have interviewed you all the time.” As she kicked up her legs, for a giggling Britney to palm, Ellen wheezed, “I would have shaved my legs if I thought I was doing this.”Britney received a freestanding basketball net and pole for teaching the fitness lessons.
Perhaps Britney has learnt her lesson. Spears has done a U-turn on her new video after it showed her killing herself in the bath. The singer decided to rework shocking scenes that would have shown her lying dead with an empty bottle of pills beside her, reports The Sun.
“Britney was uncomfortable with these treatments. She revised them to ensure the video will not have a scene in it that could in any way be perceived as a reference to a suicide,” a spokesman for the star said. The video for new single “Everytime” caused a huge outcry among health groups and children’s charities. Bosses at charity Kidscape described it as “outrageous, stupid and totally irresponsible”.But Britney’s label Jive Records said it was not her intention to present suicide in any sort of positive light.
To add to all this comes news of her ex. Justin Timberlake, it seems, is having trouble with women and there are just too many of them! While Timberlake has been telling pals he feels “blessed” to have girlfriend Cameron Diaz, 31, in his life, he admits that he misses the wild times he had with ex-girlfriend Britney, reports the Star.
His friends attribute this to the age gap between Cameron and Spears. “Cameron’s been there and done all that. Justin is barely legal. He’s a hot-looking, successful young guy who’s getting a lot of attention from the ladies,” a friend was quoted as saying.
Justin is also trying hand at acting as he claims to be a little tired of the music business. “He wants to try other things, and he certainly doesn’t want to go back to ‘Nsync,” Timberlake’s friend added. The latest on the pop diva is that she had to abandon her live show recently after hobbling off stage with an injured knee. She was gyrating to the tune of “Boom Boom” during a date on her US tour when she toppled over in pain.
