LONDON: Troubled pop star Britney Spears new single Womaniser scored the biggest jump in chart history after climbing 95 spots to land at number one.

Thesun.co.uk reports that this is her first No 1 hit since Baby, one more time in 1999. The song’s download sales were 286,000. This was the biggest opening-week tally by a female artiste.

And singer Raio Cruz believes Spears will be successful. Mirror.co.uk quoted Taio as saying that Britney’s new material was “cool” and that she had dealt with her problems although she did not choose any of the songs he wrote for her new album.

Taio said, “She should have taken my songs. But she’s an icon, a pop icon. She’s definitely gonna do big things again.”
