Buddha Gallery celebrates first anniversary

Kathmandu: Celebrating its first anniversary, Buddha Gallery at Thamel has begun an exhibition of 38 selected works of 19 artists who had displayed their art in the galley during the past one year.

Amidst a gathering of well-known artists, Kiran Manandhar, a veteran artist, informally inaugurated the programme by lighting a lamp. “Buddha Gallery, as I know from the very beginning, has hugely contributed to encourage artists and painters in the capital,” he said. Manandhar has recently returned to Nepal from an exhibition tour that included Paris in the itinerary.

The current exhibition that started from May 3 includes paintings, sketches and photographs by Kiran Manandhar, Sarad Chitrakar, Ratna Kagi Shakya, Erina Tamrakar, Buddhi Thapa and Choi Go Dam. Shahi Shah was also present on the occasion. The price of paintings ranges from Rs 5,000 to Rs 25,000. The exhibition will continue till May 10. —HNS
