Caitlyn’s car crash video released
LOS ANGELES: The first surveillance video of Caitlyn Jenner’s fatal Malibu car crash, which happened in February, has been released. The video, obtained by TMZ, recorded by an MTA bus behind the Hummer involved in the accident appears to show Caitlyn’s black Escalade, which was towing a trailer carrying an off-road vehicle, hitting both the white Lexus and the black Prius.
In a series of still images obtained by ET, Caitlyn’s vehicle can be seen plowing into Kim Howe’s white Lexus, propelling it into oncoming traffic and then striking the Hummer.
The I Am Cait star then continued on and hit the Prius. The still photos were reportedly shot from two angles by security cameras on a passing public bus and was handed over to investigators by Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority after the accident.
Following the release of the surveillance footage, Caitlyn’s lawyer Philip Boesch said, “As part of a reasonable investigation, we have seen parts of an MTA bus video, and when all of the photographic and video evidence of this tragic accident, and all available witness information, is made available to us, we will be in a better position to make fair comments.”
Caitlyn was previously sued for wrongful death by Kim’s stepchildren. The driver of the Prius, Jessica Steindorff, also sued the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, claiming the reality star “negligently, carelessly, recklessly, and wantonly drove, managed, maintained, controlled, operated and entrusted their motor vehicle so as to legally cause the plaintiff to be injured” and to cause “damages” to her car.
