Celebrating life

KATHMANDU: The historic coronation of King Jigme Khesar on November 6 and 100 years of monarchy in Bhutan, will be followed by a week of nationwide celebrations and art is going to be an integral part.

Living Canvas 2008 — the Gallery without Walls will travel from Nepal to Bhutan for this very celebration.

Living Canvas is created by utilising various locally available mediums like bronze, bamboo, beads, canvas, textiles, shells, mirrors, dried leaves and others which are sewn, pasted or woven together. Deneth Piumakshi, from Sri Lanka is the curator of the exhibition and has worked with the Kasthamandap Art Studio.
