Celebrating musical history
KATHMANDU: A history was made on June 28, 2015 when a team of 17 Nepal artistes performed for the first time at prestigious stage of Royal Albert Hall in London, England. Performing at the charity event — An Evening For Gorkha — for the earthquake victims were the amazing line-up of artistes and musicians.
And on April 1, this historical event was celebrated at a programme held at Megha Malhar, Soaltee Crowne Plaza with cocktails, dinner and some Nepali music.
Deep Shrestha, Om Bikram Bista, Jems Pradhan, Yogeshwor Amatya, Deepak Thapa, Tsujil Karmacharya and Trishna Gurung, who had performed at Royal Albert Hall with an entourage of talented musicians, again performed at the event. Their popular numbers like Ma Patthar Ko Deuta, Ma Maunta Maa, and Khani Ho Yahmu among others resounded at the venue.
Meanwhile, An Evening For Gorkha was able to collect £25,000 during the performance in London as per a press release issued by the team. The collected money will be used to help a school of Gorkha district destroyed in the quake.
