Tihar is special because, among other things, it also celebrates that sacred and special bond that brothers and sisters share. On Bhai tika sisters worship their brothers, put tika on their foreheads and pray for their prosperity, health and long life. Brothers on the other hand promise that they will always take care and protect their sisters.
