Chan unhappy with Rush Hour series

LONDON:

Martial arts actor Jackie Chan has slammed the Rush Hour series that made him famous because he thinks they are ‘too Americanised’. Contactmusic.com reports that he was disappointed with the original movie released in 1998 and came back for the sequel only because he was given a lot of money. On his website he says, “When we finished filming (the first film), I felt very disappointed because it was a movie I didn’t appreciate and I did not like the action scenes involved. I felt the style of action was too Americanised and I didn’t understand the American humour.” Speaking of Rush Hour 3, he said he made the movie only for his fans. He added, “Nothing particularly exciting stood out that made this movie, Rush Hour 3 special for me. I spent four months making this film and I still don’t fully understand the humour.”
