Making a mark as one of the best classical music programmes of the Valley, Sashtriya Sankranti a monthly event held at Gurukul has completed 14 months. The event is organised on the Gurukul premises, coordinated by Sarita Mishra and supported by BP Koirala India-Nepal Academy.

After presenting mesmerising performances during the events, the Sashtriya Sankranti is going to take a break and the last performance of this season was held on August 18.

Sitar maestro Dr Dhurvesh Chandra Regmi performed along with Sarita Mishra (tabla), Pramod Upadhya (tabla), Ananta Prajapai (tabla), Januka Shrestha (sitar) and Resha Maharjan (sitar).

Dr Regmi performed Raag Yaman, a Deb Chandra Regmi ‘Gharana’ creation, Raag Pahadi and a composition in the Tilak Kamod Raag.

Every pick on the sitar and beat of the tabla created spellbinding music hypnotising everyone in the audience.

The coordinator of the event Mishra also informed that anyone interested in the Sashtriya Sankranti can now be a member in just Rs 1,000. Counsellor of Indian Embassy, Gopal Baglay was also present at the event.
