Collage of cultures

KATHMANDU: The three day theatre festival, Culture in Theatre, ended on December 28. Sangya Theatre Group and M Art Theatre Group from Nepal, and Kankhowa Theatre Group from India had staged their plays at the festival. Along with theatre performances, a seminar was also held which according to Dr Abhi Subedi was very successful with regards to the knowledge shared and findings made.

The last day of the fest saw two performances by M Art Theatre, Khushee Ko Mrityu and Samaya Shareer Yatra both written by Dr Subedi and directed by Birendra Hamal. A special performance, a Chariya dance, was also performed by Anita Tamrakar.

Speaking at the closing of the festival, Laxman Rajbhandari, General Manager, Raastriya Naach Ghar expressed pride that the festival had incorporated art and culture in their plays and also said the festival has inspired them to organise the Madhyamanchal Natak Mahotsav in February.
