Concert for peace
KATHMANDU:
To mark the International Day of Non-violence on October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Action for Poverty Alleviation Trust (APAT) is organising a peace concert at the Garden of Dreams featuring Raktika.
APAT is a non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit organisation whose endeavours are geared towards support for conflict affected rural communities and identify the root causes
of poverty and violence in society and find creative ways to build lasting peace.
Taking note of the fact that Nepal is at a critical juncture and that the idea of peace and non-violence relevant and meaningful in Nepal’s context like never before. And what better way to spread the message of peace and non-violence than through music.
Raktika is an avant garde and one of a kind musical band in Nepal with deep tradition of Nepali classical, Gypsy/Flamenco, Rock and Blues. Raktika are Hari Maharjan (guitar), Nikhil Tuladhar (drums/percussions), Riju Tuladhar (bass guitar), Prabhu Raj Dhakal, Iman Bikram Shah (guitar/ guitar synth), Lochan Rijal (guitar/vocal/ percussions) and Rabin Lal Shrestha (tabla).
They will be playing enchanting classical and fusion music continuously for three hours.
