Brad Pitt was involved in a security scare at the Venice Film Festival when an overzealous female fan pushed her way past bodyguards to throw her arms around the Hollywood star. The Mr and Mrs Smith actor, who is at the Italian movie event to promote his new film The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, was shocked at the confrontation and left visibly angered by the security breach.

Pitt was making the rounds of the red carpet when a female fan fought her way through the crowd and tried to embrace him.

“It was a scary moment. The security team must have been embarrassed that she was able to get that close to him. She could have been anyone. Brad didn’t look very happy about it all,” the Daily Mail quoted the onlooker, as saying. The actor not only stars in the film, which is a strong contender for the Golden Lion award, but is also producing it.
