Creative collage
Kathmandu:
Expression 2009, the two day inter-college festival organised by Ace Institute of Management was quite an event as all the halls of Academy Hall, Kamaladi seemed to be brimming with action on January 26. The event was inaugurated by Rajendra Khetan, Executive Director, Khetan Group. The event was a creative collage where students especially graduate and under-graduate ones from different colleges took part in various competitions. Excited participants could be seen creating beautiful rangolis, making cartoons and painting in the Lobby. Those who had the flair for acting were seen impressing the judges with their miming skills. While the Main Hall had judges gruelling students to see if they could handle stress, a quality highly essential to become good managers. While some of the contestants were a bit nervous with the non-stop questioning sessions, others tried to remain composed and gave some witty answers, as the crowd cheered for them.
Other competitions included Spin a Yarn, where students showed their ingenuity with helping each other weave stories from a cue they were provided. The Upper Hall saw presenters convincing the judges how they would manage Obama’s first tour to Kathmandu within a budget of Rs 20 lakhs. And with their strong vocabulary and convincing points participants tried to outdo the opposing team. And no college event would be complete without a dance competition, and it had its share of performers dancing from folk tunes to latest popular numbers from movies. Besides that stalls were also present with representatives from different colleges providing information about their colleges and other stalls serving delicious food items. On January 27 at Academy Hall, other competitions like Music Competition, Fashion Show, Collage, Calligraphy, Sketching will be held and Karma Band will be performing live. The programmes has been organised in association with Bajaj Pulsar.
