KATHMANDU, JUNE 23

Paleti, the intimate musical series held on the last Friday of every English month at Nepalaya's 'R' Sala, will this time feature the celebrated musical duo from Darjeeling-Badri and Durga Kharel-after a 17-year hiatus.

In a statement issued today, Nepalaya said, "Paleti is an intimate musical series that has been running for the past 20 years."

For this month's edition, the duo will perform not only their timeless classics but also new compositions set to the lyrics of renowned songwriter Dinesh Adhikari. These songs will be performed in collaboration with Paleti's emerging voice, Abhigya Ghimire. The performance is being seen as a symbolic bridge between musical generations.

Badri and Durga Kharel are revered figures not only in Darjeeling's Nepali music scene but also among Nepali-speaking audiences across the globe. Among their many hits, their iconic song "Bolaun Bhane Timilai Baat Lagne Dar" remains a beloved staple for fans, reads the statement.

Durga Kharel, who first performed at Paleti in 2008, shared, "It brings us immense joy to return to the musical homeland of our craft after such a long interval."

Badri Kharel echoed the sentiment, recalling, "When we first came to Paleti, we were unfamiliar with the format of the program. Now, after all these years, we return once again-confident that we will receive the same love and warmth from music lovers as we did back then."

This edition of Paleti will be held on Friday and Saturday, June 27 and 28, at Nepalaya's 'R' Sala in Kalikasthan. According to the statement, tickets are available for online purchase at www.paleti.com.np.
