NEW YORK: Actress Demi Moore shocked some royalty when she attended a lavish costume ball for Princess Beatrice by changing into jeans halfway through the event.

According to newsweek.com, Beatrice had an elegant ball celebrating her 18th birthday at an estimated cost of $725,000. There were around 300 guests including Elton John and supermodel Elle Macpherson. They were asked to dress in period costumes from 1888. Moore showed up in a white Victorian ball gown but snuck out midway and got into something more comfortable. A source said: “She went upstairs to change, then she came back a few minutes later in a black T-shirt, jeans and black pumps.”

Moore reportedly changed so that she could dance with her husband Ashton Kutcher. One guest added: “No one else saw fit to change their outfits, and most people who saw Demi before and after thought it showed a thorough lack of respect to the hosts. You wouldn’t even wear jeans to go to a decent nightclub — let alone a royal residence.”
