Dylan bores Cowell to tears

NEW YORK: Simon Cowell, the outspoken American Idol judge, has snubbed rock legend Bob Dylan by saying he is not as talented or perky as pop singer Kelly Clarkson. Pagesix.com quoted Cowell as saying, “Do I prefer Clarkson’s music to Dylan’s? Yes. I’ve never bought a Dylan record. A singing poet? It just bores me to tears.” He added, “I’ve got to tell you, if I had 10 Dylans in the final of American Idol, we would not be getting 30 million viewers a week. I don’t believe the Bob Dylans of this world would make American Idol a better show.” Cowell has been a judge for each of the six seasons the show has been aired. He admits that people may be right when they call him a jerk for his bold comments. He said, “Based on public opinion, yeah, I am. If half the people think I’m a ***hole, then I’m half a ***hole.”
