Anti-child abuse day marked
KATHMANDU: Kadambari Memorial College Science and Management, Department of Social Work, had organised various activities to mark the World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse on November 19. Posters and collages related to child abuse prepared by students were displayed at Maitighar Mandala. A signature campaign was also held there and the signatures will be submitted at Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare. In the evening, a candle lit programme was also organised. Earlier on November 16, the students took part in an orientation programme on child abuse which was given by CWISH. The interactive session dealt with talks about child abuse, its forms, symptoms and prevention and protection aspect from experts. — HNS
How to tackle school bullying
KATHMANDU: A talk programme on School Bullying was organised by the Soaltee Crowne Plaza on November 14, which was attended by principals, teachers and parents from different schools. This programme was organised as part of the corporate social responsibility by Soaltee Crowne Plaza.
Niti Rana, director of The New Era Career Development Institute and the first researcher to academically investigate this topic in Nepal, gave a talk regarding this issue. There was an active participation by all those present in this interactive programme. Rana explained the
experiences of victims of school bullying. She also discussed its implications for school
management policies, teacher training programmes and for the development of positive school cultures. — HNS
