Education fair kicks off

Kathmandu: The eighth Nepal Educational and Book Fair started on May 22 at Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall. Organised by Global Exposition Management Services Pvt Ltd in cooperation with the National Booksellers and Publishers Association of Nepal, the fair is divided into two sections — the Education and Career Section in Hall A and the book fair at Hall B. A sizeable number of universities, colleges, overseas education consultants, book publishers and distributors and educational organisations are participating in the fair with more than 140 stalls. The education and career fair will last till May 25 while the book fair will continue till May 29. More than 150 educational institutions and booksellers are participating in the week-long exhibition. —HNS

Fellowship award

LALITPUR: Jagadamba Publications provided a fellowship to Deepak Aryal on May 22, for the research of the major works, articles and letters of late B P Koirala, which have not so far come to light. The publication is provided a fellowship of Rs 100, 000 from the writers’ royalty of the publication of ‘Jail Journal’ and ‘Atmabritanta’ by late litterateur Koirala. The research period has a duration of five months and the researcher will undertake study and research of B P’s main works, articles and letters possessed by various persons and organisations. —HNS
