KATHMANDU:

Her paintings had been lying at her home and finally the public will get to see artist Sandhya Mahrjan’s work at her very first solo exhibition. Titled ‘The Beginning of the Journey’, the exhibitions opens at the Nepal Art Council on September 20.

Forty-one of Maharjan’s works will be on display at the exhibition.

Done in different mediums like oil colour, watercolour and charcoal, her works are a realistic depiction of landscapes and day-to-day life of the Nepali people.

“My landscapes capture the rural part of Nepal, and there are few with temples as well,” Maharjan elaborated.

She added that she had even included a copy of one of Rembrandt’s painting that she has done in her exhibition.
