Have you ever experienced this? Especially when your SLC exams are nearing. Well I mean to say people, when they get to know that you are giving your SLC exams they start off with their own never ending SLC experiences. Simply listening to their gossip makes you all the more scared of the board exams. Instead of encouraging and boosting confidence, their gossip makes you all the more scared.

I am sure most of us have gone through this. One thing that irritates me most is the amount of pressure our parents and relatives lays on us. They overestimate us and threaten us to come up to their expectations. School Leaving Certificate is considered as an iron gate. Since we obey our elders and it is drilled to us that we have to get scared of our board exams and we agree to it. The same happened to me. While preparing for my final terms I always thought of SLC exams and the very thought would bring beads of perspiration on my forehead. I always feared SLC exams. Finally when the D-day came and when I sat in the examination hall I didn’t find anything different. It was a usual exam except the school and the invigilator was different.

When I think of it today I cannot help but laugh at the fear of SLC exams. Please don’t get me wrong here. Exams should not be taken lightly. But I would like to advise my juniors that SLC is the stepping-stone of our academic life and it should be done well. I have seen good students panic and spoil their paper.
